COIN WITH A PORTRAIT OF TIBERIUS by S.P. Kershaw
Museo Nazionale Romano: Palazzo Massimo alle Terme, Rome.

THE CAVERN AT SPERLONGA by S.P. Kershaw.

Tiberius was very nearly killed at a seaside residence called ‘The Cavern’ (modern Sperlonga). A rock fall from the roof of this cave, which also functioned as a banqueting hall, killed several guests (Tacitus, Annals 4.59; Suetonius, Tiberius 39)
