The full text of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen written by the Marquis de Lafayette with help from Thomas Jefferson. The document acted as the manifesto of the early stage of
the French Revolution and anticipated a stable constitutional state which would succeed the absolute monarchy of Louis XVI.
