Effects of a branched-chain amino acid drink in Mania - Scarna et al. (2003)

Patients suffering from manic episode are thought to have overactive dopamine levels. In this paper, the authors try to reduce dopamine in patients by using a nutritional supplement comprising amino acids.

The active mixture is compared to a placebo. Results are discussed in this paper published in the British Journal of Psychiatry in 2003.
