Hidden Lives - Children in Care 1881-1918
Unique archive material about poor and disadvantaged children cared for by The Waifs and Strays' Society (later the Children's Society) in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Society cared for children across England and Wales - in both the densest urban conurbations and some of the smallest rural villages. Includes photographs, case files, articles, learning resources and information about the Society's homes.
