Nikiphoros Lytras (1832-1904) was a Greek painter and one of the main representatives of the artistic movement of academic realism, often called in Greece the "Munich School". He remained faithful to the precepts and principles of this movement, while paying greatest attention both to ethographic themes and portraiture.
