Psychological Research, Obedience & Ethics - Open University Tutorial
This is a short tutorial on Psychological Research, Obedience & Ethics. It is an adapted extract from the Open University course "Discovering Psychology", and discusses one of the best known studies in the history of psychology, on obedience, by Stanley Milgram (1963) and the guidelines that govern the use of non-human animals in psychological research in via the research of Alex Thornton who studies meerkats, and of Tetsuro Matsuzawa who works with chimpanzees. The code of ethics concerning the psychological research that is conducted with human and non-human participants is explored.
