The Siege of Vienna 1683

This picture of the battle of Kahlenberg on September 12 1683 was a huge turning point in European history when a combined army of Germans, Austrians and Poles

defeated an Ottoman army of 150,000 after they had laid seige to Vienna. It was the last major Turkish attempt to expand into Central Europe.
