Thomas Jefferson's eyewitness description of the French Revolution July 1789

From 1785 Thomas Jefferson had been the representative of the United States in Paris. In July 1789 he personally witnessed the events of the revolution which broke out in that year. These documents are copies of a report sent by Jefferson to John Jay, US Secretary of Foreign Affairs, on July 19 1789.
